On Journaling and Connectedness:

As I write this, I am reminded of the movie  Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, where Ferris (played by Matthew Broderick) looks into the camera and says, “Life moves pretty fast – if you don’t stop and look around once in awhile, you could miss it.” In this digital age, everything moves fast – information is transferred from one part of the world to the next in mere seconds. We are constantly being asked to do more in less time, and many of us often find ourselves wishing that we could just stop everything until we catch up to our lives.
Adopting a regular practice of journaling allows us to do just that - to reflect upon our thoughts and feelings, to catch up to ourselves, and to make plans for how to tackle the tasks ahead. It also gives us the time to reflect upon how we feel about the world around us; what are some things that we feel strongly about? Is there something missing that we could offer that would improve things in our own community, or those nearby? Journaling not only serves to bring a deeper level of connectedness to ourselves, but it offers the chance to make a plan on how to be the change that we wish to see in the world – a beautiful opportunity if there ever was one!
With this in mind, perhaps you are inspired to reflect on the world around you, and perhaps initiate some change – why not use this journaling prompt to get you started?
What am I an expert in, and how can I use that expertise to make a positive impact on the community around me?

Can Journaling Help You on Your Path to Success?

Most of us know about blogging and various social media sites, and how they can help us to achieve success on our journey. It seems, however, that many don't understand the power of adopting a regular journaling practice for the same purpose. Usually, when we have an idea or a goal, we want to get the word "out there," and that is where blogging and social media come in. Where journaling becomes a major player on this path, is that while blogging and social media allow us to engage and interact with others, journaling allows us to connect to ourselves. It allows us a safe place to identify our goals, and becomes the perfect map of how to achieve them. Journaling is also a fantastic way to keep track of how far we have come from where we started. In short, one of the best ways to achieve your goals is to have a place where you can write them down, sort out how to achieve them, and be able to look back occasionally to track your practice.
